Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman is confident that both judicial system and the criteria of judges' selection require considerable revision.
In his interview for the Rada TV Channel on Friday, Groysman said he intended to hold a meeting with representatives of the judicial power to find out what legislative amendments were required to ensure public, effective and professional appointment of judges.
"On the one hand, the system is being changed, on the other hand we have to change the criteria the people coming to work in this system. All and everyone is interested in it," he said.
Groysman said that in the nearest future he expected the President to submit draft constitutional amendments touching the judicial reform for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada. He reminded that the amendments had been elaborated by the Constitutional Commission and praised by the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission).
